A beautiful, sunny, September day - just the ticket for our stroll around Saltaire.  

 

Our tour began in the United Reform Church with a lively, comedic double act from “Mrs Hill” (from the posh end of Saltaire) and “Mrs Dooley” (from the mill workers end of town)! We were then taken for a stroll around the town by “Mrs Hill” who further entertained us with tales of the time when Titus Salt provided a more acceptable environment for his mill workers.  Members were also able to visit The Mill which now houses a restaurant, book and homewares stores and The David Hockney Art Gallery.
