At the October meeting we were entertained by Mr. Noel Moroney who's subject was “Close Encounters of a Famous Kind.”

Mr. Moroney lives in Brighouse and had a long career in textile development and sales. He recalled how, in the course of his work, he met a large number of famous people and he had interesting stories to tell.

Prominent leaders of industry and famous celebrities and sports stars were involved in many of the projects he worked on.

Mr. Moroney also explained how some of the developments in textiles, which we take for granted, came about.

The afternoon concluded with questions from the audience and refreshments.

Above report from our President, Tony Mitchell.
